1. Download the Jellyfin Family Package
The Jellyfin download is a single ZIP package for Windows. It includes both available Jellyfin editions and a shared README. After extracting the archive, install the edition that matches the way you want to control your TV.

Voice Assistant Edition
Choose this edition if you want to control Jellyfin through Alexa or Google Assistant.

3. Requirements and Setup Preparation
Common requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC
- existing Jellyfin Server
- Jellyfin app installed and signed in on the TV you want to control
- administrator access to Jellyfin Dashboard so you can create a dedicated Smart Home Cinema API key during setup
- a Jellyfin TV client listed on the compatibility page or available for trial validation
TV capabilities vary by Jellyfin client. Use the 14-day trial to validate your own setup before purchasing a license.

Additional requirements for Voice Assistant Edition
- TRIGGERcmd account
- TRIGGERcmd Agent installed on the Windows PC
- Amazon Alexa app or Google Home app
- Alexa or Google Assistant configured before the final command test
Third-party service note — Voice Assistant Edition only
Voice Assistant Edition uses TRIGGERcmd, a third-party service that connects Alexa or Google Assistant to Smart Home Cinema. Smart Home Cinema itself does not require a recurring subscription.
TRIGGERcmd Free can be used for setup, testing and occasional commands, but it is limited to one executed command per minute. Because Jellyfin control may involve several commands in succession, a TRIGGERcmd subscription is recommended for unrestricted day-to-day use.
TRIGGERcmd pricing and plan conditions are managed independently by TRIGGERcmd. Check current TRIGGERcmd pricing.
Local Voice Edition does not use TRIGGERcmd.

4. Quick Installation Overview
- Download the Jellyfin family ZIP.
- Extract the archive.
- Choose Voice Assistant Edition or Local Voice Edition.
- Run the installer for the edition you want to use.
- If Setup displays the FFmpeg / ffprobe page, choose the recommended download option and wait for the process to finish.
- Create a dedicated Jellyfin API key for Smart Home Cinema.
- Open Smart Home Cinema - Configure Jellyfin TVs.
- Enter your API key, test the connection and scan for active Jellyfin TV clients.
- Create the Smart Home Cinema Command Center library and Smart Home Cinema Playlist in Jellyfin.
